Eligibility
|
- Eligibility is restricted to British Citizens (within the meaning of the British Nationality Act 1981), who are resident in the UK.
- Churchill Fellows can be of any age from 18 and above, and in any occupation. Everyone has an equal chance; a lack of qualifications is not a bar to an award as every application is judged on the worth of the individual and the merit of the project. - Projects must be such that applicants demonstrate that they will acquire knowledge that will primarily bring benefit and make a difference to others in their community and in the UK as a whole, as well as to themselves.
- The Trust will not consider Fellowship grants for ‘Gap’ year activities, courses, academic studies or student grants. This will normally include 'electives', degree 'placements' and 'post-graduate' studies, unless real and wider benefits to others in the UK can be demonstrated.
- Grants will usually cover a stay overseas of between 4 to 8 weeks (longer periods may be considered). Applications for less than 4 weeks will not be considered.
- Applicants do not require any formal educational or professional qualifications.
- Applications are considered for individual projects only; joint or group applications will not be accepted.
- The Trust prefers to award Fellowships to people unlikely to obtain funding from other sources.
- In particular, the Trust is looking for those to whom the opportunity of a Travelling Fellowship represents a real Chance of a Lifetime in personal terms.
- Please note that existing Churchill Fellows may not re-apply.
