Fellow of 2009, Faisal Al Yafai, has gone to Beirut to position himself for his Fellowship in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan and Indonesia. He will be researching feminist strategies in the Islamic world and outlines his thoughts and observations so far in an op-ed for The National, an Emirates daily. In 2008 Felicity Aston visited 8 Commonwealth countries on a Fellowship to select a women's Antarctic team. The team of women from Brunei, Cyprus, Singapore, New Zealand, India and the UK started walking on 18th November and safely reached the Antarctic on 29th December 2009.
