ResponsibilityThe Trust's ethos is that the Fellowships are to enable men and women from all walks of life to acquire knowledge and experience abroad. In the process, they gain a better understanding of the lives and cultures of people overseas and, on their return, their effectiveness at work and their contribution to the community is greatly enhanced.
Applicants, if awarded a Fellowship, are expected to do the following:
- Demonstrate that their project is feasible and worthwhile, and of wider benefit to the United Kingdom.
- As part of their personal development, make their own travel plans and arrangements to achieve their objectives, and do so within the grant awarded.
- Disseminate the results and findings of their overseas project as widely as possible amongst colleagues and in areas of work/influence, to ensure that the wider benefits are achieved.
- Submit a short report on their project within six months of their return which will be placed on the Trust’s website.
- Start and complete their projects within a year of receiving the award.
- Join and support their local Association of Churchill Fellows, and help to inform others of the work and ethos of the Trust.
