Responsibility

The Trust's ethos is that the Fellowships are to enable men and women from all walks of life to acquire knowledge and experience abroad. In the process, they gain a better understanding of the lives and cultures of people overseas and, on their return, their effectiveness at work and their contribution to the community is greatly enhanced.

Applicants, if awarded a Fellowship, are expected to do the following:

Demonstrate that their project is feasible and worthwhile, and of wider benefit to the United Kingdom.
As part of their personal development, make their own travel plans and arrangements to achieve their objectives, and do so within the grant awarded.
Disseminate the results and findings of their overseas project as widely as possible amongst colleagues and in areas of work/influence, to ensure that the wider benefits are achieved.
Submit a short report on their project within six months of their return which will be placed on the Trust’s website.
Start and complete their projects within a year of receiving the award.
Join and support their local Association of Churchill Fellows, and help to inform others of the work and ethos of the Trust.
