I am an expert in ending violence against women (VAW), having worked nationally and internationally in gender equality and human rights for over 15 years. I am currently the Domestic Abuse Programme Manager with the Mayor of London, where I have oversight in implementing Domestic Abuse Act 2021 duties.

I am passionate about ending VAW and improving practice. I am a Domestic Homicide Review author, where I undertake analytical reviews into the circumstances of a homicide, and I am a consultant, where I specialise in training and policy work. I am also undertaking a PhD in violence against women, human rights and education.

I am particularly interested in improving the training offered to professionals to support them to better respond to survivors. There is a new emphasis on ending VAW by strengthening training for professionals dealing with survivors but, despite this, there is no consistency on who should deliver this training, what the content should be, or how it can achieve its objectives. I want to explore global best practice to develop a national standards framework that sets out the training needed for professionals to effectively address and end VAW.
