Associations - Keeping Churchill Fellows in touchThe Winston Churchill Memorial Trust is not merely a grant giving body because a Churchill Fellowship is for life. The experience of the Trust since it was established in 1965 is that the impact of a Fellowship is enduring. Indeed for many it can take 20 years or more for the full benefits of a Fellowship to be realised. To keep Churchill Fellows in touch with the Trust and with one another, there are 13 regional Associations of Churchill Fellows, use the map to the right to find your nearest Association. The roles of these Associations and the support provided by the Trust Office, are contained in a Charter that can be summarized as follows:
Each Association, being an autonomous group of persons, is independent of the Trust with voting rights and procedures being a matter for each individual Association and, whereas the Trust is a Registered Charity (No.313952), the Associations are not. They are provided with limited financial support by the Trust as they play an important part in the Trust’s publicity drive to announce the annual categories and encourage new applicants each year. |
