Simon works for the Kirklees Museums and Galleries and wanted to see for himself the heritage interpretation methods used by the National Park Service of the US. In the middle of the last century, the NPS lead the world in heritage interpretation, under the leadership of Freeman Tilden. Simon spent 6 weeks in Boston learning all he could, which he is now using back in Huddersfield.
