The deadline to submit applications for 2012 Travelling Fellowships is next Tuesday, 4th October at 5pm. For those interested in applying this year, remember to apply before the deadline! If you miss the deadline, or prefer to apply next year, you can register from Wednesday 5th October to receive an alert in May 2012, when applications open for travel in 2013.

Read about Jim Smith's Fellowship in the USA, where he travelled to see how music is being used to help treat addiction. Having conquered his own addictions Jim has been using music in addiction meetings for the last decade. In the States they're about 20 years ahead so Jim was keen to learn more.Tony Wright, 50 from Northumberland, will go to the USA to explore Interventions for armed forces veterans with multiple & complex needs.You can also see the full list of all 2011 Fellows including their projects and the countries that will be visited and the lists of awards according to region. The categories for the 2012 Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowships will be announced on 10 May 2011.
Christina Taylor, 19 from Manchester, who will travel to the USA and Japan Investigating discipline and support within hip hop dance for children.
Jacqueline Williamson, 35 from Londonderry, will visit Australia to research Crisis Intervention Services: a ‘Big Society’ initiative for homeless people.
Adrian Tarka, 22 from London, will travel to the USA to examine Best practice engaging with young people in addressing educational disadvantage.
John Geden, 44 from Hampshire, will visit Australia, USA and Asia to find out How to apply extra-territorial legislation to combat child abuse.
Julie Logan, 52 from Bristol, will go to the USA to explore Expert research & practice: improving the workplace for adults with dyslexia.
Jessie Jowers, 32 from Gloucestershire, will travel to USA, Mexico and Ecuador Investigating the cultural significance of native bees.
Claire Chapman, 38 from Edinburgh, will visit Norway and Africa to research her project Harnessing hyrodpower.
Alison Lui, 31 from Liverpool, flies to the USA and Canada to investigate Corporate governance and regulation of banks.
Sarah Hope, 48 from Wales, will travel to Canada to research Preventive health to reduce chronic conditions.
