News: We’re hiring a Junior Researcher

We are looking for a systematic and resourceful researcher to join our small team on a short-term basis and support our mission to facilitate people-powered change across the UK.

  • Salary: £525pw full time (or pro rata), working from home
  • Start date: Immediate, up to 14 weeks fixed term

The Churchill Fellowship is a life-changing programme of grants that fund inspiring individuals to travel the world in search of solutions for the UK’s most pressing problems. Fellows visit the world’s leading people and projects in a wide range of practical topics, from healthcare to homelessness, the environment to education and more. They come home with new ideas to make change happen in their sectors and communities, influencing practice and policy at local and national levels.

As Junior Researcher, you will be working with the charity at a busy time as it prepares to expand its reach and impact into sectors and communities at national and regional level across the UK. You will be responsible for identifying the key organisations and influencers across a range of sectors and compiling our database of these from scratch. This is a crucial role which will help us expand our presence in these areas, so that we can share ideas and offer Fellowships to the widest range of UK citizens.

The purpose of this role is to research target audiences across a range of sectors within which we award Fellowships. The sectors include the arts and creative industries, economy and enterprise and the environment. This will involve desk research to identify and map out the key organisations, influencers, policymakers, funders, media, moments and hashtags, at a national and devolved nation level, and compile our database of these. Good knowledge of Excel is essential, and experience of database research is desirable.

This is a fixed term role beginning in April for up to 14 weeks, available part time or full time. To apply, please email a copy of your CV and a short cover letter outlining your interest and availability to [email protected] by Wednesday 14 April. Please quote ref JR0046 in your application email.

As part of our commitment to removing bias from our recruitment processes, personal information is removed from applications before they are read.
