The Activate Fund
Applications for 2020 grants have now closed. The next grants round is being developed and all eligible Fellows will be notified in time to apply.
The Activate Fund is a new fund open to Churchill Fellows in the ten years after their Fellowship has been awarded. It aims to support the activation or acceleration of their Fellowship findings, by providing dedicated funds and support during the key period when they start to make change happen.
This is a three-year pilot project, making its first grants in 2020. In this phase, we have allocated £80,000 for a small number of awards from £4,000 to £20,000. The scheme has been developed in consultation with Fellows, to respond to their practical needs. It may evolve in the next grant round.
Please note that this is a complementary fund to the Fellowship, aiming to support Fellows' post-travel activities. It will therefore not support further overseas travel.
For 2021 grants, applications will be welcome from Churchill Fellows of 2011-2019, whose Fellowship project would offer a significant public benefit and would benefit from this type of assistance.
