Event: London exhibition for Beatrice von Preussen, CF
Etching and illustrations from Beatrice's Arctic Fellowship and Antarctic travels, plus a talk by the artist
On a quest to find the world’s northernmost printing press, Beatrice sailed around the Svalbard archipelago high in the Arctic Circle. Having met polar bears and found fossils, she travelled to the Antarctic Peninsula in search of the world’s southernmost printing press.
On Deception Island, Beatrice joined a team investigating microbial food webs. Working closely with scientists has given her a unique view of the natural world and shaped the process of creating prints made at either end of the Earth.
An exhibition of her work is at Green & Stone in Fulham, London, free entry.
On 28 November at 530-630, she will give an artist's talk at the gallery with the Natural History Museum's art science interest group. All welcome but please book a ticket at [email protected].
