North West Association Autumn Event

North West Association Autumn Event

The North West Association Autumn event will take place on Sunday 6th October in the Grade 2 listed Charlotte Mason Building on the Ambleside Campus of the University of Cumbria.

Charlotte Mason (1842-1923) was an educational reformer and Professor Lois Mansfield, PhD (F.2019), Director of the Ambleside Campus, has kindly offered us a brief tour describing the history of the venue which will also include reference to the artist Fred Yates (1854- 1919).

Tea/coffee will be available from 10.30am with the meeting starting at 11am. Additional refreshments will be served after presentations around 3pm before everyone makes their journey home.

Speakers will include:

Liam McAleese (F. 2018): New models for sustaining upland farming in the Lake District

Prof Lois Mansfield (F.2019): Place based cultural capital & marginal farm resilience: What can we learn from Japan to help UK hill farming?

Martin Lally (F. 2018): Protecting the Protectors: Peer support responses within Policing
