Fellow Sir Kyffin Williams’ artwork on display
Published: 18 Mar 2015
Paintings dating from the Welsh artist’s 1968-9 Fellowship in Patagonia are now being exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, Machynlleth.
The paintings have been loaned by the National Library of Wales as part of this year’s celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary since the Welsh established a colony in the region.
Sir Kyffin travelled to Patagonia to make a pictorial record of the Welsh-speaking community during his Fellowship. Whilst there he wrote a diary and completed sketches and watercolours, which were turned into paintings on his return.
The exhibition is open until May 9th.
