Three new Trustees join our Board

The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust has announced the appointment of three new Trustees to its Board, for terms of seven years each.

Joanne Thompson
is CEO of Penrillian Limited, a software development company. She has worked in a range of leadership roles for both private and public companies including prior management board experience at BT Plc, a France Telecom / Deutsche Telekom subsidiary and a division of Serco. She brings extensive experience of information technology including software, networks and cybersecurity.

Jacob Polny has been at TPG Capital since 2008, where he serves as a Managing Director. His expertise includes the retail, consumer and leisure sectors on a pan-European basis. Prior to joining TPG, Jacob worked at Altor, a Nordic mid-market private equity firm. He started his career at Goldman Sachs International in London. Prior to obtaining his degree at Oxford, Jacob attended the Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong. He remains actively involved with the school, most recently co-leading a significant scholarship fundraising campaign in 2016.

David Taylor-Smith, MBE is Chief Executive at VPS Group, a pan European private equity owned support service company, with businesses in seven countries. He is a seasoned international business leader, having worked previously at Aggreko Plc and G4S Plc, amongst others. David has also served in the British Army and United Nations, and has held many charitable roles.

We are delighted to welcome these three great talents to our Board of Trustees. They bring with them a wide range of experience and knowledge, and we are excited about working with them – Jeremy Soames, Chair of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.
