Crime reduction via the sharing of fingermark visualisation best practice
This report documents observations, findings and recommendations from a five-week travelling fellowship across the north-east side of North America. The aim of the trip was to bring good practice in forensic evidence recovery back to the UK so that policing can benefit from improved methods. The focus was on fingerprint recovery (‘fingermark visualisation’), in particular learning and understanding more about new processes that are not currently used in the UK. The trip also focussed on understanding the rationale behind the decision making of what to do and in what order, with the aim of maximising evidence recovery.
