Exploring relationships between vocational computing education and industry

This report describes programmes of vocational education for the data industries which last at least four years and prepare students for direct entry into these industries. In Japan and Denmark, technical colleges have a relationship with employers that enables full progression into relevant employment for all students who want to do so and entry onto the later stages of a degree for those who don't. Schemes in Denmark and Scotland are described that bring employers and the local community in contact with students for the production of useful digital systems (hardware or software) enhancing work-related learning for students in college.
