Author: Sakira Suzia

Sakira Suzia is a serving London Metropolitan Police Officer travelled as a Winston Churchill Fellow to America and South Africa to look at how restorative justice is used in various areas including prisons, juvenile centres and how it can be used in daily policing when dealing with juveniles. The report looks at what influences juveniles to commit crime in the first place and how it can get progressively worse if they do not get the suitable intervention or support at an early stage of their offending behaviour. The report examines the opportunity to use restorative justice practice incorporating police officers in to the process of preventing juveniles from reoffending.
