Increasing London's supply and demand of community grown fruit and vegetables.
Report of a 7-week trip to North America to learn about urban food growing enterprises in order to provide better support to similar enterprises in the UK. The cities visited were New York, Detroit, Chicago and Vancouver. The farming projects that were selected to visit all had an enterprise focus, but each had individual set-ups and different objectives for the sale of their produce and services. The visits and meetings also uncovered several key themes including scaling-up supply, markets, enterprise models, external support and innovative design. Within these themes some key ideas that could be replicated in London were identified.
