I am a freelance learning and engagement specialist. I connect people to the world around them through creative events, learning projects and interpretation. I do research and evaluation to support work in these areas. I create, deliver and manage events and projects. Over the last 16 years I have worked in museums and galleries, community and education settings. During my Fellowship, I explored how cultural organisations were inspiring and supporting educators such as teachers and college tutors, and looked at their particular approaches to learning. I was interested in how they inspired and engaged visitors, particularly adult visitors, young people, and people with access needs. I explored the ways in which they brought together a range of disciplines to illuminate and interpret their collections. I looked at how spaces were used and designed, and the ways in which the museums created sociable, enjoyable places.
