A Chas Ball
I have worked in innovative environmental enterprises since 1988 - first in waste and recycling as CEO of Save Waste And Prosper, Leeds, which pioneered various early recycling projects. My WCMF visits to Denmark and North America in 1991 provide valuable insights into source separation, paint recycling and managing household hazardous waste. It was a significant step in SWAP developing innovative waste projects. Then in sustainable transport, in 2000, I established the first commercial car club operator in Britain (City Car Club, now Enterprise Car Club). From 2010, I joined national charity, Carplus Trust (now CoMoUK) promoting shared mobility, working with operators and governments and became CEO. From 2014-17 I was also a board member of Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP). I am now a volunteer director of EPIKS (Environmental Projects in Kirklees), convenor of the Transport Working Group of Zero Carbon Yorkshire, and a director of Huddersfield Civic Society.
