My interest is raising mathematics achievement through garden activities, and advocating for this practice to become an entitlement in the same way that outdoor physical education is. I am a mathematics educator with experience in private and public sectors across four continents. Formal education include education leadership, mathematics education, gender studies, youth and community work; and primary education. Among accomplishments are: 8 years of managing National Education Reform initiatives in the UK, Abu Dhabi, Malaysia, Dominica and Saudi Arabia; 11 years teacher education in universities and schools in the UK and Indonesia; and 3 years education research at Kings College, London. I am a food grower – in London home garden and the Caribbean. In 2013 I took a self-funded 14 month sabbatical to educate myself in Edible Education volunteering with: Capital Growth; Trill Organic Farm; Monkton Wyld Court Education Centre and Schumacher College
