I’m a London-based writer who works with older adults. I run a creative business, Write & Shine, offering morning creative writing workshops for busy Londoners. At Arts Council England, I support writers & literature organisations to realise their ideas. Writers Meet Elders was a research project exploring creative writing and ageing. It was supported by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, and undertaken in partnership with Age UK Bromley & Greenwich. During 2015/16, I undertook research in Australia (April/May) and the States (February/March) considering what it meant to work with those in later life as a writer, why it mattered to be engaged creatively as an older person. I looked at examples of artist training in this area, and thought about the impact of time and age on forms of writing, too. Back in the UK, I'm developing a creative befriending model linking poets & authors to older adults at risk of loneliness and isolation. https://writersmeetelders.wordpress.com
