Many years ago I set up a social enterprise in the slums of Peru. Subsequent career moves took me into the social enterprise space, in particular in supporting agribusinesses - some of which were in very remote locations yet were growing fast. I am now working in UK impact investment, where I come across community food businesses doing great things but often at a small scale. I shall be travelling to Peru and Bolivia in May 2019 to visit community food businesses, in particular exploring the themes of leadership, scale and support needs/provision. I have an absolute passion for social enterprise and would like to help UK community food businesses grow and thrive. I hope to draw attention to specific issues/solutions, and in future to develop a venture or programme in this space.
