I am a university lecturer and researcher based in York, England. My research, teaching, and practice focus on the experiences of transition from education to employment for young adults on the autism spectrum. I am mindful, however, that too often academic research is not accessible or useful for autistic people and so, alongside autistic researchers and community stakeholders, I recently set up a participatory project - PRO Autism - to explore how educational practices could be improved and might better enable success. I am thrilled to have been granted a Churchill Fellowship which will allow me learn from experts in this field across Canada and the USA in order to enhance practice back in the UK.
