Following qualification in 1989 I progressed through the levels of the healthcare-scientist framework. Since 2009, I have fulfilled the role of Head of Service. I perform scientific activities and provide clinical leadership to seven specialist services across thirteen sites. As part of the Senior Management team I am responsible for strategic planning, operational performance and workforce management. I am committed to supporting our workforce to deliver high-quality care, by driving improvement, optimising business processes and leading a collaborative outcome-orientated approach. I believe clinical alliances, research networks and use of evidence-based practices key to meeting patient expectations and contractual requirements. As clinical lead for Audiology I direct the delivery of a service accredited under the IQIPS programme. I am a Technical Peer-Assessor for UKAS, a Workplace Assessor/Educator for UCL Ear Institute and a qualified Performance Coach.
