I represent the local Association for Churchill Fellows in Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire (Thameslea). Our aim is to keep Churchill Fellows in the region informed, networked and engaged. Personally, I became involved in the Association because being awarded the Fellowship meant so much to me and inspired me to such an extent that I wanted to keep in touch with that feeling. By being in touch with other Fellows I can take a little of their excitement and their travel experience and I think ‘wow’, look what you did, then I go ‘wow’, I did that too! As you know, when you get older time seems to move quicker, but when you are learning new things and having new experiences the perception of the passage of time slows a little. The Fellowship is my ‘Fountain of Youth’ as I keep learning and having new experiences as a result of my 2012 Fellowship.
Maria’s Fellowship took her to USA in 2012 to explore art as a catalyst for community regeneration.
