I'm passionate about music. I believe it should be an essential part of every child's education, having a huge impact on the way their brain develops and helping them learn in all areas of the school curriculum. It is also a huge life-line to adults too - and a great way to make friends. Part of my mission is to demonstrate the power of music, particularly through singing and choral work, to as many people as possible! I am Artistic Director of Singing Community of Choirs (www.scchoirs.org.uk), leading a team of conductors who vocally train over 200 people of all ages every week. I have also developed a series of of 'Social Singers' choirs with colleague Helen Williams, growing from 20 members in 2012 to over 150 in 2019. I believe that everyone is musical at birth and that everyone can sing. However, if this is not nurtured in the early years, it can be lost forever. That is where I want to bring about change!
