Following the Fellowship investigating the export of North Devon pottery to the British colonies on the Eastern seaboard of America, and making ‘first contact’ with Bideford’s twin town, Manteo NC, Sadie has continued her research and introduced an Arts and Cultural Exchange Programme between Manteo and Bideford. Sadie has found Pottery sherds locally, with many 17th century plainware and decorative sgraffito pieces. Sadie has subsequently shared her finds with eminent collectors and curators in North Devon and the US. Sadie regularly presents to groups in North Devon, sharing knowledge and enthusiasm for Pottery. Sadie has shared her findings with potters who have been inspired to develop their practice. Sadie has initiated an Exchange programme with Dare County Arts Council in Manteo. The first Exchange was a Postcard exchange in 2011 followed by a group exhibition by Bideford artists and musicians, shown at the Arts Council Gallery in Manteo in September 2013.
